This well illustrated catalogue was published on the occasion of the exhibition A Celebration of Irish Art & Modernism, which took place in the Ava Gallery Clandeboye, Co. Down, Summer 2011 . 

It marked the 20th anniversary of Dr S.B. Kennedy’s seminal book and exhibition Irish Art & Modernism 1880-1950 and included several works from that exhibition in 1992.

 

Size 225 X 245 mm. 60 pages illustrated in colour .

 

The book features 49 Irish artists that were active in the period up to 1950 with short biographies on each. Among the artists included are Harry Clarke, William Conor, Gerard Dillon, Paul and Grace Henry,  Evie Hone, Mainie Jellett, Sean Keating, William John Leech, John Luke, Daniel O’Neill, William Orpen, Estella Solomons, Mary Swanzy and Jack B. Yeats.
